Itinerary
Day 1Welcome to Albania
Arrive in Albania and make your way to Shkodra on the included group shuttle from Tirana Airport. Once we arrive, we’ll check into our locally run hostel and have some time to settle in, explore the town or just relax after the journey. In the evening, we’ll all meet properly for a welcome dinner and trip briefing.
Dinner included
DAY 2Hidden canyon + cliff jumping
Today we’re heading into the mountains to explore one of northern Albania’s hidden canyons. We’ll spend the day swimming, scrambling over rocks and, for anyone feeling brave, cliff jumping into crystal-clear water. It’s such a fun adventure day and a really good introduction to the wild side of Albania.
DAY 3Theth National Park + the Albanian Alps
Today we head into the heart of the Albanian Alps. We’ll take a scenic drive into Theth National Park, stopping at viewpoints along the way before hiking to Grunas Waterfall and continuing on to the famous Blue Eye. Expect mountain scenery, waterfalls, fresh air and some of the best views of the trip.
Lunch included
DAY 4Rozafa Castle + Lake Shkodra
A slightly slower day today, mixing a little history with time out on the water. We’ll visit Rozafa Castle for panoramic views over Shkodra and the surrounding mountains before heading out onto Lake Shkodra. There’ll be time to swim, kayak or simply relax and enjoy the scenery.
DAY 5Highlands waterfall hike
Today we head deeper into the highlands for a guided hike through rugged landscapes to a remote waterfall and natural swimming pools. This is one of the more off-the-beaten-path days of the trip and perfect if you love hiking, wild scenery and finding places that feel a little more hidden.
Lunch included
DAY 6Shala River
Today we’re heading to one of Albania’s most beautiful spots. Often called the “Albanian Thailand,” Shala River is known for its ridiculously blue water and dramatic cliffs. We’ll take a speedboat across the lake before spending the day swimming, relaxing and soaking up the scenery.
DAY 7Coast day + farewell dinner
For our final full day, we’ll head to the coast for a slower day by the sea. Think swimming, beach time and one last chance to relax together before returning to Shkodra. In the evening, we’ll finish the trip with a farewell dinner and night out together.
Dinner included
DAY 8Goodbyes for now
After breakfast, we’ll check out and take the included group shuttle back to Tirana Airport. From there, it’s time to say goodbye and either continue your travels or make your way home.

Hey, Im Lauren!
A travel content creator from Perth, Western Australia.
For the past five years, I’ve been exploring the world, visiting over 40 countries (so far!) and searching for the prettiest places on earth. Travel has become more than just a passion, it’s a way of life. Whether I’m swimming in the ocean, hiking through hidden trails, or discovering places most people have never heard of, I feel most alive when I’m surrounded by nature.
My mission is simple: to explore, connect with like-minded people, and encourage others to find their own kind of adventure.
Where We’re Staying
Throughout the trip, we’ll be based at a locally run hostel in Shkodra, which will be our home for the week.
It’s a relaxed, social base where we can come back to after each day’s adventures, with plenty of space to unwind, hang out with the group and recharge.
Staying in one place also means no constantly packing and unpacking, and from Shkodra we’ll head out on day trips to explore the mountains, rivers, lakes and coastline before returning each evening.
Accommodation will be shared, keeping the trip social and making it easy to get to know everyone along the way.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Not at all! Most people who join my group trips come completely solo.
The whole idea behind these trips is to make it easier to travel somewhere incredible even if you don’t have someone to go with. We’ll all meet in Bali at the beginning of the trip and travel through Banggai together from there.
-
Nope!
The surf lessons are beginner-friendly, so you absolutely do not need any previous surfing experience. If you’ve surfed before, you’ll still be able to make the most of the sessions and time in the water.
-
That’s completely fine.
The surf days are there to be enjoyed, not forced. If you’d rather sit one out, relax on the beach or just take things slower, you can.
-
The trip starts and finishes on the Moroccan coast, with airport transfers included.
You’ll be flying into Agadir airport
You’ll receive the exact meeting and transfer information closer to departure.
-
Yes, meals are included throughout the trip.
You’ll be eating a mix of Moroccan food, surf-house meals and meals provided during the desert section of the trip.
-
We’ll do our best to accommodate dietary requirements and allergies.
You’ll be asked to provide any dietary requirements before the trip so we can pass them on to the local team in advance.
-
We’ll be staying in a mix of hostels, hotels and a desert camp.
The coastal stays will be more social and relaxed, while the desert section will be more adventurous and rustic.
Accommodation will be shared depending on the property.
-
The desert camp is one of the biggest highlights of the trip.
We’ll be staying out in the Sahara surrounded by dunes, with dinner, traditional music, a bonfire and a night under the stars.
Facilities may be more basic than a hotel, but that’s part of the experience.
-
You don’t need a high level of fitness for this trip.
There will be surfing, walking, swimming and some active days, but there isn’t a major trekking component.
A general level of fitness and being comfortable spending time outdoors will be enough.
-
No.
If you’d prefer not to take part in the camel ride, you can sit that activity out.
-
Think lightweight clothes for the coast, swimmers, comfortable shoes, sun protection and a few warmer layers for the desert.
Desert mornings and evenings can get surprisingly cool, so bringing layers is definitely important.
I’ll send everyone a full packing guide closer to the trip.
-
Morocco is a relatively conservative country, so I’d recommend packing a mix of normal travel clothes and a few more modest options, especially for towns, villages and cultural visits.
Swimwear is completely fine at the beach, surf spots and accommodation pools where appropriate.
-
Yes. Travel insurance is mandatory for everyone joining the trip.
Your policy should cover medical expenses, cancellations and delays, lost belongings and the activities included in the itinerary.
-
Visa requirements depend on your nationality, so you’ll need to check the entry requirements for your own passport before travelling.
-
You only need a $250 deposit (this is non refundable) to secure your spot, and the remaining balance can be paid off through a payment plan.
Once your deposit is paid, your spot is officially secured and you’ll be able to follow the payment schedule from there.
If you ever have any questions about your payments along the way, just reach out and I’m always happy to help where I can.
