Itinerary
Day 1Welcome to Nepal!
After arriving at Tribhuvan International Airport, you’ll be met by our local team and transferred to your hotel. Once everyone has checked in, you’ll have some time to settle in, relax or head out and explore the colourful streets of Thamel. In the evening, we’ll come together for our first group dinner, enjoy some traditional Nepalese food and get excited for the adventure ahead.
DAY 2Kathmandu to Pokhara
After breakfast, we’ll head to the domestic airport for a scenic 25-minute flight to Pokhara, Nepal’s adventure capital. Once we arrive, we’ll check into our hotel before spending the afternoon exploring the beautiful Lakeside area. You can take a boat out on Phewa Lake, visit Tal Barahi Temple or simply slow down, wander around and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere before the trek begins.
DAY 3The Trek Begins
Today marks the beginning of our Himalayan adventure! After breakfast, we’ll take a scenic drive to Nayapul, where we’ll lace up our hiking boots and begin the trek. We’ll follow the Modi Khola River and make our way through small mountain villages as the trail gradually climbs. The final section includes a steep stretch of stone steps before we reach Ulleri, where we’ll settle in for the night surrounded by beautiful valley views.
DAY 4Ulleri to Ghorepani
After breakfast, we’ll continue our climb through beautiful rhododendron and oak forests, making our way further into the Annapurna foothills. The trail includes plenty of stone steps, but we’ll be rewarded with glimpses of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli along the way. We’ll pass through the small villages of Banthanti and Nangethanti before arriving in Ghorepani, where we’ll spend the night at the foot of Poon Hill.
DAY 5Poon Hill Sunrise and Trek to Tadapani
We’ll start the day early with a hike to the top of Poon Hill, sitting at 3,210 metres above sea level. From here, we’ll watch the sun rise over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges, creating one of the most unforgettable views of the trip. After taking it all in, we’ll head back down to Ghorepani for breakfast before continuing through rhododendron and oak forests to Tadapani, where we’ll spend the night surrounded by mountain views.
DAY 6Ghandruk and Return to Pokhara
After enjoying one final mountain sunrise, we’ll trek down to the traditional village of Ghandruk. Here, we’ll visit the Gurung Museum to learn more about the local culture and history, with the chance to try on traditional Gurung clothing. Afterwards, we’ll say goodbye to the mountains and drive back to Pokhara, where we’ll check into our hotel and enjoy a well-earned evening of rest.
DAY 7Explore Pokhara
Today is ours to relax, recover and explore more of Pokhara. You can spend the day by Phewa Lake, visit the World Peace Pagoda, explore Devi’s Fall and Gupteshwor Cave or choose from optional activities such as paragliding, zip-lining or an ultralight flight. After a few days of trekking, this is the perfect chance to slow down and enjoy one of Nepal’s most beautiful cities.
DAY 8Pokhara to Chitwan
After breakfast, we’ll leave the mountains behind and travel by tourist bus to the lush lowlands of Chitwan. Once we arrive, we’ll check into our resort and have some time to unwind before heading to the Rapti River to watch the sunset. It will be a completely different side of Nepal and the beginning of our jungle adventure.
DAY 9Chitwan National Park
Today is all about exploring the wild side of Nepal. We’ll spend the day taking part in jungle activities such as canoeing, guided walks and wildlife spotting inside Chitwan National Park. We’ll be keeping an eye out for one-horned rhinos, deer and plenty of birdlife, with the possibility of spotting a Bengal tiger if we’re extremely lucky. We’ll also visit a local Tharu village to learn more about the traditions and culture of the community.
DAY 10Return to Kathmandu
After breakfast, we'll begin our journey back to Kathmandu. Sit back, relax and take in the last views of Nepal as we make our way back to the city.
Once we arrive, you'll have the evening to unwind, enjoy one last dinner together and reflect on an unforgettable adventure through the Himalayas, charming villages and Chitwan National Park.
DAY 11Goodbyes (for now)
It's time to say goodbye! We'll organise airport drop-offs throughout the day based on everyone's flight times, making sure everyone gets to the airport with plenty of time before departing.
While this adventure may be coming to an end, we're sure you'll be heading home with unforgettable memories, a camera roll full of photos, and friendships that'll last long after the trip is over.
Disclaimer
This itinerary may be adjusted depending on weather, trail conditions, transport and availability to ensure the safest and best possible experience for the group.
The Poon Hill trek is classified as easy to moderate, but it still requires a reasonable level of fitness. There are several hours of walking each day, uneven terrain, uphill sections and a large number of stone stairs throughout the trek. You do not need to be an experienced hiker, but you should be comfortable walking for extended periods and prepared for consecutive days of physical activity.
All wildlife encounters take place in the wild, so sightings in Chitwan National Park cannot be guaranteed. Activities are conducted respectfully and ethically, without chasing, feeding or disturbing the animals.
All activities are optional. There is never any pressure to take part in something you do not feel comfortable doing, although guests should understand that the trekking portion is a key part of the itinerary and suitable preparation is required.

Hey, Im Lauren!
A travel content creator from Perth, Western Australia.
For the past five years, I’ve been exploring the world, visiting over 40 countries (so far!) and searching for the prettiest places on earth. Travel has become more than just a passion, it’s a way of life. Whether I’m swimming in the ocean, hiking through hidden trails, or discovering places most people have never heard of, I feel most alive when I’m surrounded by nature.
My mission is simple: to explore, connect with like-minded people, and encourage others to find their own kind of adventure.
Where We’re Staying
Throughout the trip, we’ll be staying in a combination of comfortable hotels and traditional teahouses along the trekking route, with all accommodation arranged on a twin-share basis.
While we’re in Kathmandu, Pokhara and Chitwan, we’ll be staying in comfortable hotels where we can relax, recharge and enjoy a little more space between each part of the adventure.
During the trek, we’ll stay in locally run teahouses tucked away in the mountains. The accommodation is more basic than the hotels, but that is all part of the experience. Rooms are simple, cosy and usually come with some pretty incredible views right outside the window.
Facilities along the trail can be limited, and things like hot showers may come at a small additional cost of around $2. Wi-Fi and charging can also sometimes cost extra or be less reliable, so this is the perfect chance to switch off, slow down and fully take in the mountains around us.
Staying in teahouses is one of the most special parts of trekking in Nepal. We’ll get to support local families, share meals together after long days on the trail and wake up surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in the Himalayas.

You’ll need to fly into Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM) in Kathmandu. Airport pickup on the first day and your transfer to the hotel are included.
-
Yes, airport transfers are included.
On the first day of the trip, there will be two transfers from Malé to the island, one at approximately 10:30am and another at 4pm. You’ll need to make sure your flight arrives before the final transfer.
If the only suitable flight options arrive later in the day, I recommend flying in one day early and spending a night in Malé. I’m more than happy to help you find a good hotel if needed.
-
You must be between 18 and 35 years old at the time of the trip.
-
This trip is very ocean focused, so it is best suited to people who feel comfortable in and around the water.
That said, life jackets are available and all water activities are guided. You are also never required to take part in an activity you do not feel comfortable doing and are always welcome to stay back and relax on the island instead.
-
Visa requirements depend on the passport you are travelling with.
Many travellers are granted a tourist visa on arrival in the Maldives, but you should always check the current entry requirements for your nationality before booking flights or travelling. You may also need to complete the Maldives Traveller Declaration before arrival.
-
Lunch is included on our longer excursion days.
On the other days, we’ll head to some of the local cafés on the island, where meals are usually around $6 AUD and the portions are generous.
-
We’ll be staying in a locally owned guesthouse on the island for the full week.
Rooms are shared with other travellers on the trip, and the guesthouse is close to the beach, local cafés and everything we need during our stay. It’s a simple, comfortable and much more authentic way to experience the Maldives beyond the resorts.
-
Yes, payment plans are available for everyone.
The total can be split into smaller instalments, and the schedule can be customised on request if you need a little more flexibility.
-
Please contact me as soon as possible so I can cancel your booking and make the spot available to someone else.
The $200 deposit is non-refundable. Any additional payments you have made will be refunded, provided the cancellation is made more than 30 days before the trip begins.
Cancellations made within 30 days of departure are non-refundable.

I personally recommend bringing a smaller daypack (around 15–20L) for the trek and leaving your main backpack or suitcase securely in Pokhara. That's exactly what I did and what I'll be doing again! You'll only need the essentials for the few days we're in the mountains, so packing light makes the hike much more enjoyable.
If you'd prefer to bring more with you, you'll also have the option to hire a porter for an additional cost to carry your larger bag.
