Itinerary
Day 1Welcome to Island Life
Arrive in the Maldives, settle into the guesthouse and meet everyone you’ll be spending the week with. We’ll head out for a little tour of the island, take some group photos and ease into the trip with a sunset dinner by the beach. The first day is all about settling in, getting to know the group and soaking up that first bit of island life.
DAY 2Whale Shark Adventure
We’re jumping straight into one of the biggest bucket-list days of the trip with a full day out on the water searching for whale sharks in the wild. We’ll cruise through the South Ari Atoll, stop for snorkels along the way and hopefully get the chance to swim alongside one of these incredible gentle giants. Wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed, but the adventure of searching for them is all part of the experience. After a full day at sea, we’ll head back to the island for dinner and a relaxed evening.
DAY 3Manta Ray Adventure
Another bucket-list day on the water, this time searching for manta rays in the wild. We’ll spend the day cruising between snorkel spots, exploring the reefs and hopefully getting the chance to swim alongside these incredible animals. As always, wildlife sightings can never be guaranteed, but this is one of the best places in the Maldives to look for them. After another full day in the ocean, we’ll head back to the island for dinner and a relaxed evening together.
DAY 4Sandbank + Reef Snorkel
Today we’re heading out to one of those picture-perfect Maldives sandbanks, surrounded by nothing but bright blue water. From there, we’ll head to one of the most beautiful reefs I’ve ever snorkelled, with plenty of time to explore the underwater world before heading back to the island. The afternoon is all about relaxing, group games, lots of laughs and another dinner together.
DAY 5Desert Island Day
Today we’re escaping to a remote uninhabited island with white-sand beaches, crystal-clear water and some seriously dreamy backdrops. There’ll be plenty of time to swim, relax, explore and get all the photos, or simply switch off and soak it all in. Back on the island, we’ll finish the day with a coconut palm weaving class and learn a little more about a traditional local craft.
DAY 6Nurse Shark Adventure
After a slower morning on the island, we’ll head back out on the water for one of the most exciting snorkels of the trip, swimming alongside nurse sharks. They’re calm, curious and seriously incredible to see up close, making this such a memorable experience. Later, we’ll head back for dinner, watch the sunset and finish the evening at the jetty where we may spot even more sharks below.
DAY 7Beach Day + Farewell Dinner
We’ll spend our final full day making the most of island life, with time to snorkel, relax on the beach and capture any last photos before the trip comes to an end. That evening, we’ll come together for a special farewell dinner featuring traditional Maldivian dishes and live music. The perfect way to celebrate an unforgettable week together.
DAY 8Goodbyes (For Now)
After one final breakfast, it’s time to pack up, say goodbye to the island and begin the journey home. You’ll leave with sun-kissed skin, salty hair, new friendships and a week full of memories from one of the most beautiful places in the world.
Until next time.
Disclaimer
This itinerary may be adjusted depending on weather, ocean conditions and availability. Activities may be moved to different days to give the group the safest conditions and the best possible experience. As all wildlife encounters take place in the wild, sightings cannot be guaranteed. Every excursion is conducted respectfully and ethically, which may mean taking extra time to locate wildlife without chasing, feeding or disturbing the animals. All activities are optional. There is never any pressure to take part in something you do not feel comfortable doing, and you are always welcome to stay back and relax on the island instead.

Hey, Im Lauren!
A travel content creator from Perth, Western Australia.
For the past five years, I’ve been exploring the world, visiting over 40 countries (so far!) and searching for the prettiest places on earth. Travel has become more than just a passion, it’s a way of life. Whether I’m swimming in the ocean, hiking through hidden trails, or discovering places most people have never heard of, I feel most alive when I’m surrounded by nature.
My mission is simple: to explore, connect with like-minded people, and encourage others to find their own kind of adventure.
About the Island
Get ready for our tropical escape to Omadhoo, where life revolves around the ocean. This beautiful little island in the South Ari Atoll is surrounded by crystal clear turquoise water and incredible marine life. Think snorkeling straight off the beach, spotting dolphins, manta rays, and maybe even swimming alongside whale sharks.
We will be staying right on the beachfront, so you can quite literally roll out of bed and into the sea. Morning swims, sunset dips, and relaxed island days are all part of the plan.
Omadhoo is a local island, which means we get to experience the real charm of Maldivian life. The community is warm and welcoming, and the island still holds onto its traditional way of life. As it is a Muslim island, swimwear is only allowed on the designated bikini beach, but it is a beautiful stretch of sand that is perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and soaking up the sun.
This trip is all about slowing down, enjoying the ocean, and sharing unforgettable moments in one of the most beautiful places in the world.
-
You’ll need to fly into Velana International Airport in Malé, airport code MLE.
-
Yes, airport transfers are included.
On the first day of the trip, there will be two transfers from Malé to the island, one at approximately 10:30am and another at 4pm. You’ll need to make sure your flight arrives before the final transfer.
If the only suitable flight options arrive later in the day, I recommend flying in one day early and spending a night in Malé. I’m more than happy to help you find a good hotel if needed.
-
You must be between 18 and 35 years old at the time of the trip.
-
This trip is very ocean focused, so it is best suited to people who feel comfortable in and around the water.
That said, life jackets are available and all water activities are guided. You are also never required to take part in an activity you do not feel comfortable doing and are always welcome to stay back and relax on the island instead.
-
Visa requirements depend on the passport you are travelling with.
Many travellers are granted a tourist visa on arrival in the Maldives, but you should always check the current entry requirements for your nationality before booking flights or travelling. You may also need to complete the Maldives Traveller Declaration before arrival.
-
Lunch is included on our longer excursion days.
On the other days, we’ll head to some of the local cafés on the island, where meals are usually around $6 AUD and the portions are generous.
-
We’ll be staying in a locally owned guesthouse on the island for the full week.
Rooms are shared with other travellers on the trip, and the guesthouse is close to the beach, local cafés and everything we need during our stay. It’s a simple, comfortable and much more authentic way to experience the Maldives beyond the resorts.
-
Yes, payment plans are available for everyone.
The total can be split into smaller instalments, and the schedule can be customised on request if you need a little more flexibility.
