Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Albania

Arrive at Tirana International Airport and hop on the included group shuttle north to Shkodra (approx. 1.5–2 hours).

Check into our locally run hostel, settle in, and explore the town at your own pace. Grab a coffee, wander the streets, or relax in the courtyard.

In the evening, we come together for a welcome dinner and trip briefing to meet the group and kick things off.

*dinner included

Day 2: Hidden Canyon & Cliff Jumping

We head into the mountains to explore one of the region’s hidden canyons.

Spend the day swimming, scrambling over rocks, and (for the brave) cliff jumping into crystal-clear water. It’s an active, fun day surrounded by dramatic scenery and one of the most unique landscapes in northern Albania.

Day 3: Theth National Park & The Albanian Alps

Today we explore the heart of the Albanian Alps.

A scenic drive takes us into Theth National Park, with stops for viewpoints and local cafés along the way. We’ll hike to Grunas Waterfall, then continue on to the famous Blue Eye — a vibrant turquoise spring tucked deep in the forest.

Expect fresh mountain air, waterfalls, and some of the best views of the trip.

*lunch included

Day 5: Highlands Waterfall Hike

We venture deeper into the highlands for a guided hike through rugged terrain to a remote waterfall and a series of natural swimming pools.

This is one of the more off-the-beaten-path days and perfect for anyone who loves hiking, wild landscapes and discovering places you wouldn’t find on your own.

*lunch included

Day 4: Rozafa Castle & Lake Shkodra

A slower-paced day blending history and nature.

We visit Rozafa Castle for panoramic views over the lake and surrounding mountains, then enjoy a relaxed boat ride on Lake Shkodra, the largest lake in the Balkans. Time to swim, kayak, or simply soak up the scenery.

Day 6: Shala River

Often called “Albanian Thailand,” the Shala River is famous for its unreal blue water and dramatic fjord-like cliffs.

We take a speedboat across the lake to reach this hidden spot, then spend the day swimming, relaxing, and enjoying the sunshine. A true highlight and a favourite for photos.

Day 7: Coastline Beach Day & Farewell Dinner

We finish the trip with a relaxed day on Albania’s coastline.

Beach time, swimming, and soaking up the last moments together before returning to Shkodra for a final group dinner and night out to celebrate the week.

*dinner included

Day 8: Goodbyes (for now)

Breakfast, check-out, and included shuttles back to Tirana Airport.

Hugs, new friendships, and a camera roll full of memories.

Your Host

I’m Lauren — a travel creator from Perth, Western Australia who’s spent the last few years chasing adventure and exploring 39 countries (so far!). If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ll know I’m obsessed with finding hidden gems and the prettiest places on Earth…

And Albania is exactly that.

This trip is for the girls who love adventure, nature, and a bit of chaos in the best way.
Not luxury resorts… but swims in waterfalls, road trips through the mountains and late night chats with new friends.

If that sounds like your vibe, you’re going to LOVE this one.

WHO THIS TRIP IS FOR

This trip is for you if you:

✓ love nature and being outdoors
✓ want adventure over fancy hotels
✓ are happy staying in fun, social hostels
✓ want to make genuine new friends
✓ don’t want to plan anything yourself
✓ just want to show up and have the best week ever

If you’re after luxury spas and 5 star resorts, this probably isn’t your trip.
If you’re keen for cliff jumps, hikes, swims and making new connections… you’re in the right place.

Where we’re staying

For the week, we’ll be based in Shkodër, a laid-back lakeside town in northern Albania surrounded by mountains, rivers and the Albanian Alps.

It’s colourful, local, and full of character — think cute cafés, family-run restaurants, fresh bakeries, sunset walks by the lake and barely any big crowds.

It’s also the perfect base for adventure, with most of our hikes, canyons, waterfalls and river days just a short drive away.

We’ll be staying at a fun, locally owned hostel run by our legends Erjon and Robert. It’s super social, welcoming, and the kind of place where everyone ends up hanging out together in the courtyard at night swapping travel stories.

Expect:
✓ Dorm-style rooms
✓ Comfy beds
✓ Shared bathrooms
✓ Chill common areas
✓ A kitchen
✓ Big community energy

Meals & Food

This trip is designed to be adventurous and budget-friendly, so instead of including every single meal, we’ve kept things flexible.

Breakfast is included daily at the hostel, and some lunches and group dinners are covered depending on your package.

For the rest, you’ll have the freedom to eat how (and where) you like.

There’s a shared kitchen at the hostel if you want to cook your own meals and save money, plus heaps of cheap local options around town.

Think:
– gyros & street food for just a few euros
– cute cafés and bakeries
– casual local restaurants
– or nicer sit-down spots if you feel like treating yourself

So whether you’re travelling super budget or keen for the occasional fancy dinner, there’s something for everyone.
